Shopko Interview Questions

Shopko Interview Q & A for Cashier

Q1: Are you comfortable working on your own?

A: I am very comfortable working on my own. I prefer to do so, in fact. This is because I feel more accomplished at the end of the day when I have handled a lot of work on my own.

Q2: How do you deliver great customer service?

A: I deliver excellent customer service by being attentive and polite. I always listen thoroughly to what my customers need and try to provide it to the best of my ability. I treat them with respect and consideration no matter what.

Q3: What would you do if you had a disagreement with a fellow employee in front of a customer?

A: I would not allow myself to get in that position to start with. If I got into an argument with another employee, I would wait until there were no customers around us before trying to work the problem out. It is unprofessional otherwise.

Shopko Interview Q & A for Salesfloor Teammate

Q1: How would you cross sell to a customer purchasing a winter jacket?

A: I would point out some other items that they might need while wearing it. This would include emphasizing the importance of having a winter hat, gloves or boots. Detailing the benefits of a product in relation to one they are already interested in buying is a good way to do that.

Q2: What would you do if a customer asked for help with a product you had not been trained on?

A: I would answer the questions to the best of my ability but I would not lie to them; if I was completely in the dark about a product, I would ask someone to help me. I want to be honest with the customer. Then, I would ask for training to avoid that in the future.

Q3: What does good customer service mean to you?

A: Good customer service means being attentive to the customers’ needs by listening and always showing respect.

Shopko Interview Q & A for Warehouse Worker

Q1: Are you able to work on your feet for long hours?

A: I am definitely able to work on my feet for long hours. I prefer to do this actually; it keeps me awake and alert all day long.

Q2: What steps would you take to ensure that you are doing your job safely?

A: I would follow all of the safety guidelines that have been put in place by the company. Even if I thought that I could get my work done faster by skirting the guidelines, I would not. I understand that the safety of myself, my employees and anyone else in the building is more important than getting work done too fast.

Q3: What would you do if you discovered that a coworker was stealing?

A: If I saw a coworker stealing, I would immediately report it to my manager. I would also let the employee know that I saw them stealing so they know they are being watched.

Shopko Interview Q & A for Team Leader

Q1: How would you motivate employees to meet sales goals?

A: I motivate my team to meet sales goals by rewarding them. Sometimes this means with actual incentives, but sometimes this means just praising them. People tend to want to do more and work harder when they feel they are being appreciated for it; for this reason, I am always sure to tell someone when they have done a good job or met a goal.

Q2: What would you do to calm down an irate customer?

A: I would first listen to their concerns; usually they just need someone to vent to. After they have vented, I would apologize for the problem. Then I would try my best to find a solution to that problem. If it was out of my hands, I would offer them alternatives to the original solution.

Q3: What is the best way to give criticism to a subordinate?

A: The best way to give criticism is to do so in a kind and constructive manner. It is not good to yell or berate. I always approach the subject kindly but firmly.
