Q2: What is the best way to handle long lines at the register?

A: The best way to handle those long lines is to try to move quickly but politely through the lines. It means paying attention to each customer but not letting them linger. It is also about prioritizing my time.

Q3: What would you do if we were sold out of a shoe in a customer’s size?

A: I would apologize for the issue and the inconvenience. Then, I would tell them I would special order them for the customer. I would let them know I will call as soon as they come in.

Q1: How would you handle long days working on your feet?

A: I prefer to be able to work on my feet, so it is not a big deal to me. I like being kept on the move and kept busy. When I get home, I just relax and rest for the next day.

A: I spend a lot of time with the program in order to learn it well. I am sure to go over each step in the program and practice it until I am totally comfortable with it. The key is to just look at the program thoroughly and keep practicing it.

A: Teamwork means playing your part to ensure all of the work gets done. It means helping teammates when they need it and picking up slack when you have to. It also means helping each other out.

Q1: What is the best way to deal with an upset customer?

A: Start by identifying the root cause of the issue. This problem is usually that the customer does not feel cared about. Once I figure out the problem, then it is time to ask probing questions. After the customer has figured out what it is they want exactly, they usually calm down. At this point, it is much easier to help them.

Q2: What do you like about being a manager?

A: I like knowing that I am at least in part responsible for helping another person succeed.

A: I would open or close the store and then see to my emergency after that. My responsibility is with my work first and foremost.
